Schönbrunn Zoo

Located in Vienna's 13th district, it was founded by the Habsburgs in 1752, making it the oldest and at the same time the most modern zoo in the world.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been voted as "The best Zoo in Europe" five times.

The zoo offers plenty of space for over 700 different animals - from native sheep to King Penguins to Chinese Pandas and Siberian Tigers, where all animals find a unique habitat.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of animals in a wide range of animal facilities and observe first-hand the inhabitants of the tropical rainforest, the African savannah or the underwater world. Anyone looking for direct contact with the animals is in good hands in the popular petting zoo at the large adventure playground.

There are also many special features at the zoo, where visitors have the opportunity to experience various shows and guided tours. The live feeding of seals or cheetahs is a unique experience, as is the night tour of the zoo. You can also enjoy nocturnal animals with night vision equipment.
